CASA DE ORO REDEVELOPMENT

Strategically located in the affluent Mount Helix area next to major transportation corridors, the Casa de Oro business district is transitioning from an outdated, neglected commercial area into a prime, revitalized, vibrant business, smart growth village, mixed-use destination.

This renovation, revitalization, and redevelopment has the full backing and support of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, San Diego County Planning Department, community members, local organizations, and area businesses.

On July 27, 2018, at the request of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, SANDAG unanimously awarded a $500,000 grant for the County to develop a Specific Plan to implement the renovation, revitalization, and redevelopment transformation of this prime Casa de Oro business corridor. To support this transformation, the County is looking at rezoning, infrastructuring, beautification, and a host of other changes and concessions needed to make this transition happen.
